Get Google Business Profile API access approved for Cretorial.

Use this checklist before reapplying to Google. It is written for the rejection: "No approved project. The listing ID is associated with a different website." Cretorial's flow is Google sign-in first, then automatic GBP sync only for Business Profiles visible to that signed-in Google account.

Important first fix The Google Business Profile listing, the company's official website, the Google Cloud OAuth app, and the API access request must all point to the same real business identity. If the listing website is different from the website submitted in the API form, Google can reject the request again.

Approval Must-Haves

OKBusiness Profile is verified, active, complete, and has been managed for at least 60 days.
OKThe listing website is the official company website, not a client site or unrelated domain.
OKThe email used in the access request is an Owner or Manager on the Business Profile.
OKThe Cloud project number in the form is the same project used by the OAuth client.
OKOAuth branding, homepage, privacy policy, terms, disclaimer, support email, authorized domains, and scopes match the Cretorial sign-in and GBP sync flow.

Cretorial App Flow

1. User signs in with Google The login screen has a Continue with Google button. Cretorial uses Google email/profile only to sign in or create the user workspace.

2. User grants GBP permission The OAuth consent includes business.manage so the app can access Business Profiles the signed-in Google account owns or manages.

3. App syncs available GBP data If that Google account has GBP access, Cretorial syncs accounts, locations, reviews, and related review/location metadata into the user's workspace.

What happens if the login has no GBP? The user can still sign in, but no Google Business Profile accounts or locations will sync. Cretorial does not access profiles outside the signed-in user's granted Google permissions.

Exact Steps

Decide the official business website

Choose the one official website that represents Cretorial. Use that same website everywhere: on the Google Business Profile, the OAuth consent screen, the GBP API access form, the privacy policy, the terms page, and the disclaimer page.

Do not submit a listing ID whose website belongs to another business or client.

Clean and complete the Google Business Profile

Open the Business Profile in Google and make sure the real business details are complete and current. Google specifically expects a verified, active profile and an official website that represents the listed business.

Confirm the profile is verified, active, and not suspended.
Set the official website URL to the same domain used in the API request.
Update business name, category, address or service area, phone, hours, services, description, photos, and opening status.
Keep the profile active with normal business updates, photos, posts, and review responses.

Add the applying email as Owner or Manager

The Google account used to apply for API access should be listed on the Business Profile. Use each person's own Google account instead of sharing a password.

Go to business.google.com.
Open the profile, then go to More, Business Profile settings, People and access.
Add the applying Google account as Owner or Manager and accept the invite.
If ownership is newly added, wait for Google's owner/manager limits to clear before requesting sensitive account changes.

Prepare the Google Cloud project

Use one Cloud project for this app and keep its project number handy. The project number in the GBP API request must be the same project used by the OAuth client in Cretorial.

Open Google Cloud Console and select the project.
Copy the Project Number from the dashboard Project info card.
Configure the OAuth consent screen with Cretorial app name, logo, support email, homepage, privacy policy, terms URL, and verified authorized domains.

Verify authorized domains in Google Search Console before using them in OAuth credentials.
Use only domains the company owns or is authorized to use.

Set the OAuth redirect URI

In Google Cloud Console, create or edit the OAuth 2.0 Web Application client. Add the production callback URL used by the Cretorial app.

Submit the GBP API access request

Submit Google's GBP API contact form only after the profile, website, owner access, and Cloud project are aligned.

Select Application for Basic API Access in Google's GBP API contact form.
Use the same Owner or Manager email from the Business Profile.
Enter the exact Cloud Project Number, not a different project ID.
Use the official website matching the Business Profile listing.
Describe the app clearly: users sign in with Google, grant GBP access, then Cretorial syncs only the GBP accounts, locations, and reviews visible to that Google login.

After approval, enable the APIs

Approval comes before full API use. After Google approves the Cloud project, enable all required Business Profile APIs in the API Library.

Connect Cretorial and test

Once approved and enabled, test the normal user journey from the Cretorial login screen. If the Google login has GBP access, accounts, locations, and reviews should sync after consent. If quota shows 0 QPM, the project is not approved yet. If quota shows 300 QPM, Google considers the project approved.

Open Cretorial login and click Continue with Google.
Sign in with a Google account that owns or manages the Business Profile.
Accept the consent screen and sync accounts and locations.
Existing signed-in users can also open Cretorial GBP module and click Connect Google.
If you see quota or approval errors, stop retries, fix the items above, and reapply.

We are requesting Basic API Access for the Google Business Profile APIs for Cretorial's SEO and reputation management platform. Users sign in with Google from https://seo.cretorial.com/login. After the user grants consent, Cretorial signs in or creates the user's workspace with Google email/profile data. If that same Google login owns or manages Google Business Profiles, Cretorial syncs the GBP accounts, locations, reviews, and related location/review metadata visible to that account.

The connected Business Profile is verified, active, and represents the same business shown on the official website above. The applying Google account is listed as an Owner or Manager on the Business Profile. The OAuth consent screen, homepage, privacy policy, terms page, disclaimer page, and authorized domains all represent Cretorial and the production application hosted at https://seo.cretorial.com.

We will only access GBP data after a user signs in and grants consent. If the signed-in Google account does not have Business Profile access, no GBP accounts or locations are synced. We will only use the data for the functionality shown in the application and for businesses that have authorized us to manage or report on their profile.

Pre-Submit Checklist

Business Profile Verified, active 60+ days, complete details, official website set, applying email added as Owner or Manager.

Cloud Project Correct project number, OAuth consent screen configured, domains verified, legal links added, no mismatch between app and listing.

Cretorial App Redirect URI saved, Google client credentials set on server, no secrets placed in the public page or source control.

Troubleshooting
